Find out what it’s like to stay at hotel Coqui Coqui Valladolid- Meson de Malleville.
With a background in botany and a passion for travel, Argentine Nicolas Malleville founded Coqui Coqui Perfumeria in 2003. Captivated by the charm of tropical and sub-tropical landscapes, Malleville’s fascination led him to create a unique line of fragrances inspired by the Yucatan Peninsula, the Isles de la Société, the Riviera dei Fiori, and the Sierras Pampeanas.
Day to day, Malleville and his team immerse themselves in the botanical history of these regions, sourcing new fragrances and crafting scents by hand. This dedication to botanical research and craftsmanship has also inspired the creation of Coqui Coqui Meson de Malleville, a boutique hotel that embodies the same commitment to luxury and authenticity.

The History
Right in the heart of the historic town of Valladolid, Coqui Coqui Meson de Malleville is housed in a beautifully restored colonial building at the end of Calzada de los Frailes and directly across from the historical Convent of San Bernardino de Siena.
As the former residence of Coqui Coqui’s founders, Nicolas Malleville and Francesca Bonato, the property exudes a spirit of warmth and family. The couple lovingly renovated the enchanting building, preserving original Moorish tile floors, walls, and high ceilings with wooden beams from the 1600s.
Here, Malleville and Bonato lived and welcomed friends and family from around the world, creating a joyful and loving atmosphere. Embracing this rich history and familial warmth, they decided to open their cherished home to the public, giving birth to Meson de Malleville.
The hotel’s design seamlessly integrates the historical charm of the building with modern comforts, offering a unique ambiance that transports guests to a bygone era while providing all the amenities of contemporary luxury.
Rooms

Like many of the Coqui Coqui properties, Mesón de Malleville is intimate, featuring just four suites. They are all designed to offer a tranquil escape, each uniquely decorated with a blend of antique and modern elements, including family heirloom furniture bought from Italy.
The use of natural materials, neutral tones, and artisanal details creates a serene atmosphere throughout. Plush bedding, rain showers, and handcrafted furniture enhance the sense of comfort.
The room you want to book is the sublime Master Suite, a space that embodies the distinct Coqui Coqui aesthetic. Featuring a unique blend of furniture -from cherished family heirlooms to pieces collected during the couple’s travels -, high ceilings and polished concrete floors and walls, the suite is bathed in natural light from large windows.
Inspired by the Coba residence, it showcases a minimalist, contemporary style reflective of Malleville’s and Bonato’s tastes. Guests can enjoy the warm, balmy weather of Valladolid year-round on their private patio, which includes a plunge pool, lounging chairs, and a table.
If unavailable (and it often is), the Junior Suite, the former nursery, is a close second.
