The History
San Agustinillo, once a small fishing village, is slowly being transformed into a tranquil haven for travelers but until recently the town lacked boutique accommodation options. Monte Uzulu Boutique Hotel was commissioned to Taller LU ́UM, an architectural firm specializing in working hand in hand with artisan groups throughout Mexico.
Taller LU ́UM has collaborated on this project with four groups of artisans, ensuring that the hotel’s design and operations emphasize environmental stewardship and community engagement.
